Ultrasound Tech Perinatal Job Description

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations with high accuracy and quality, specializing in OB/GYN, and maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Apply fetal ultrasound principles in the evaluation of fetal anomalies.
  
• Apply gynological ultrasound principles in the evaluation of patients.
  
• Adapt to various ultrasound machines while maintaining high standards of sonography.
  
• Identify fetal anomalies, such as CNS, maxillofacial, cardiothoracic, abdomen, abdomen wall, genitourinary, extremity placental, umbilical cord growth disturbance.
  
• Perform ultrasounds on maternal uterus, cervix, and ovaries.
  
• Perform complicated twin and triplet scans in conjunction with in-office multiple gestation service.
  
• Makes preliminary, equivocal diagnosis of gynological and fetal disorders in the organ systems mentioned above.
  
• Operate General Electric, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines with proficiency.
  
• Maintain ultrasound logging records, including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history.
  
• Prepare patients for procedures, including Level I & II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, anmio reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound.
  
• Exercises independent judgment when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being.
  
• Alerts physicians of potentially dangerous conditions.
  
• Diagnoses fetal weight disturbances based on fetal biometry.
  
• Diagnoses multiple fetal anomalies and reports and demonstrates them to physician.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Associates degree in Ultrasound, required
    
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
    
  • At least one year of related experience
    
  • RDMS, required
    
  • RDMS - OB/GYN, preferred
